Eligibility Requirements
We're glad you're interested in joining Tau Beta Pi. The organization truly has a lot to offer.
One of the most important attributes is having strong character and integrity. Iowa Alpha determines this through our initiation process each semester. If you're invited to join, you'll find out more about how we evaluate these aspects of you.
The invitation to join results from your rank in engineering, as determined by your cumulative GPA.
For Undergraduate students, you must be:
- Top 1/8th of class for juniors, or
- Top 1/5th of class for seniors
For graduate students, you must be:
- Top 1/5th of class, and
- At least 50% of coursework (including research) must be completed.
