Chapter Project Award

Tau Beta Pi Chapter Project Awards are presented to Chapters for excellence in project work carried out during the year.  To qualify for the award the chapter must prepare and submit individual reports on the projects undertaken. Each report includes: a general description, the purpose and relationship to the objectives of Tau Beta Pi, organization and administration, cost and personnel requirements, the number of members and initiates participating, person hours they spent, special problems, if any,  an overall evaluation/results and any attachments or pictures.

Since 1996-97 Iowa Alpha has received 24 Chapter Project Awards for the following years: 1996-1997, 1997-98, 1998-99, 1999-2000, 2002-03, 2003-04, 2004-05, 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23.

 

After three consecutive years of receiving a Chapter Project Award the chapter receives $500 for a scholarship.  Since 1998-99 the chapter has received 18 scholarships for the years 1998-99, 1999-2000, 2004-05, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11, 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16, 2016-17, 2017-18,  2018-19, 2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22 and 2022-23.  These scholarships have been matched by the Office of the Dean of Engineering and has mainly been used to support in-coming freshman engineering students who participated in the Chapter’s Roller Coaster outreach activity.
