What: Catapult Competition
Where: Contest was held on the Iowa State University campus in Ames, IA
When: No longer held
Who: Teams of 4-8 high school students and at least one teacher/parent advisor
Why: To involve high school students in a fun engineering project that includes designing, building, and analyzing a catapult, along with many EXPLODING eggs!
Below is the online entry form used to register teams for the 2014 Catapult Competition. Participation in the competition was free. If there was sufficient interest we had t-shirts on sale at a the cost is $10/person. Purchase a t-shirt was not required.
The registration deadline is was one week prior to the competition.
High school seniors who participated in the catapult competition and enroll to attend Iowa State University to study engineering the following Fall semester were eligible to apply for a $500 scholarship. The scholarship application used in 2014 is shown below. The deadline for submitting the application was April 30.
